Deploying Microsoft Dynamics AX on the Microsoft Azure platform provides organizations with an agile and secure cloud platform that eliminates the need to install some or all of their Dynamics AX environments in an on premise datacenter.

While the Azure platform provides the underlying hardware (virtual machines), storage, and networking capabilities required to run the Dynamics AX system, the standard Azure offering requires customers to monitor and update the operating systems, database, and other applications and services that are installed within their Azure environment. This includes maintenance activities such as optimizing system performance, monitoring available storage space, installing critical security patches, updating the OS and database, and other platform management tasks.
