What is Common Data Model?

The Common Data Model (CDM) is a cloud-resident business database that was built on years of experience with Microsoft’s enterprise customers. The CDM aligns the data structure of Microsoft’s ERP and CRM applications (Dynamics 365) with the Office 365 productivity suite by providing hundreds of standard, shared business entities. The standardization and consistency of schema allows the creation of innovative applications and to automate business processes spanning the entire business process spectrum, from Dynamics 365 solutions, to Office 365 apps, to other apps within your organization that can be aligned with the CDM.
