sa.global India celebrates 18 years Anniversary Milestone
18 years of nurturing, learning and success
sa.global’s India operations started in 1999 with a small team being setup in Bangalore to work on a specific feature on the Euro currency for the Great Plains financial software product. sa.global India has never looked back ever since.
From becoming one of the only development partners for Great Plains in 1999, to then continuing that relationship with Microsoft when they bought over Great Plains in 2001, sa.global India has grown to a 200 member team and been a core development partner to Microsoft. sa.global also has been named one of the seven inaugural ISV Development centers to work with Microsoft ISVs as a preferred partner earlier this month. While acting as the main development hub for sa.global entities spread across 18 countries and 5 continents, sa.global India has also been an important implementation arm for global projects and has provided Microsoft Dynamics solutions at L&T e-Engineering Services and The Akshaya Patra Foundation to name just a couple of high profile clients.
With the expertise built up over 18 years of working on enterprise solutions, sa.global has developed a name as the Microsoft partner to approach for complex implementations. Says Vijay Kumar, IT Head at The Akshaya Patra Foundation, “We were looking at a more experienced partner with domain and customisation knowledge, who could not only re-architect our solution but also complete the future phases of implementation. must say that sa.global team is surely a dedicated team of highly skilled Microsoft Dynamics AX professionals who worked side by side with us to solve all our issues and made Microsoft Dynamics AX a more effective tool to use”.
This focus on deep expertise is a characteristic that sa.global has chosen to develop since day one through their internal training and mentorship program that all new recruits go. The program is built around sa.global’s culture of practical learning and is designed to enhance knowledge, skills and confidence of new recruits. With each recruit assigned a mentor, to provide them all the support they need, the program relies heavily on training that incorporates functional and technical knowledge required to work with a leading ERP solution like Microsoft Dynamics. It also equips employees with real-life skills in understanding how businesses work, how IT projects are managed, and the toolsets required to work on large scale projects through providing opportunities to work on real-time Microsoft Dynamics projects.
This culture of excellence and learning has also led to some industry defying retention figures. Says Vivekananthan Thayumanavar, Technical Manager at sa.global, “What is needed is not just people with the right certifications, we need people with proven skillsets of working on large scale projects and a deeper understanding of the core product as well as how it fits in with how real-world businesses run. Our training program has been developed over the past 18 years to provide our employees with the right toolsets and the mentorship to give them a larger perspective on projects than just coding. As a leading development partner, we are constantly working on Microsoft technology that is ahead of what is released in the market and so our associates get exposed to much more than what they would otherwise see.”
Bharath CG, new hire of 2017 at sa.global, “While I had over 3 years of experience on Microsoft Dynamics AX prior to joining sa.global, I’ve been exposed to a whole lot of new areas on the product in my first six months here. It really helps to have such an experienced team all around me to learn and get guidance from.”
“It has been a journey of sustained growth and lots of learning. It feels great to see happy customers all around us and all the credit goes to our team who have always been committed towards our customers and are ever ready to go the extra mile. I would like to thank the entire sa.global family who have stood strong through this journey. It’s been 18 years of continuous joy and I look forward eagerly to the next 18 years”, Veena Thimmaya, Director at sa.global India.
